Stoma and Urology Prescribing Update

From 19th January 2026, there will be a change to the way stoma and urology appliances are prescribed across BOB ICB.

Prescribing and reviews for all stoma and urology appliances, including accessories, will move to a new specialist service provided by Bullen Healthcare.

What this means for patients

  • Your GP will no longer issue prescriptions for stoma or urology appliances
  • Bullen Healthcare will be responsible for prescribing and reviewing your products
  • You will continue to receive your supplies as normal
  • A specialist nurse from Bullen will support you with product advice and reviews
  • Clinical care such as infections, skin problems or abdominal concerns will still be managed by the GP Practice

You will receive a welcome call from Bullen Healthcare once you have been moved to the new service.

From 19th January you can request your prescription via:

Please note, you will be asked how much product you still have, along with three health and product related questions (to ensure your products are meeting your needs). If you are experiencing any stoma, urology and/or transanal irrigation related issues arrangements will be made for your stoma/urology nurse to contact you.

Further information can be found online at BOB | How the Service Works or via the Patient Information Leaflet.
