Surgery News and Update 2023

The surgery will be closed on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th May for staff training. Westcall are covering and you should call 111.

COVID Update

We will be holding another clinic for the Spring Booster on the mornings of Saturday 20 May. We have texted our patients who have mobiles and will phone those without to invite to book into a clinic. These are bookable appointments, please do not attend without an appointment. If you have been contacted by the NHS to have a vaccine as you are  immunosuppressed you can also phone the surgery to book into this clinic.

HUBS are also opening for eligible patients to book with them.

Dr Mellows

Dr Mellows retired as a GP Partner at the end of April 2023. He has worked with us for 32 years.

Dr Rohail Malik will be taking over his patient list from July 2023. There will be locum cover in the interim. Please do not ask to be moved to another Doctors list.

We all wish Dr Mellows a very long and happy retirement.

NHS App

The NHS App allows you to view your test results and order your repeat medication without having to contact the surgery.  You can get this service via this website. Go to reception an enquires and click on register for online services.

Mental Health Practitioner

Debbie Dew has joined the PCN as a Mental Health Practitioner and will be working from Finchampstead Surgery 2-3 days a week. If you would like to speak to Debbie about any mental health issues or concerns, please phone the surgery and our receptionists can book you either a face to face or telephone appointment with her.

Travel Vaccines

We are not a registered travel clinic. Due to the demand in General Practice, we are prioritising our patients needing chronic disease management and have no appointments currently available for travel vaccinations. Please contact a MASTA clinic for help, advice and vaccinations.

Diet Injections

We are aware that the media have advised an injection will be available for weight loss. As yet we have not received further information on this, and it has not been rolled out into General Practice yet.
